It had been a little while since I had a chance to go watch one of my favorite south Texas wrestling promotions, River City Wrestling. I was reminded of the expression "What a difference a day makes". Names and competitors I remember from my last visit were nowhere to be seen. New competitors and some of the old names took the stage. I still wasn't disappointed, and RCW still delivered in spite of the turnaround.
QUINTON ALLEN v. "SUPERSHOT" JOEY SPECTOR
Joey Spector came out to a massive amount of boo's. He was still definitely the one guy RCW fans love to hate. He even claimed he wasn't going to say anything, but since we boo'd him, he talked his trash to all of us.
He took on tattooed and tall Quinten Allen for a match.
Allen takes the win.
McENROE v. GALVAN
The fightin' tennis pro, McEnroe, took on the largest douchebag of the Gulf Coast Connection, Galvan. It was a competitive matchup, which found the charismatic and skilled McEnroe taking the win and remaining undefeated.
JINGO WALABEE & HONKY KONG v. NEMESIS & MUERTE
Jingo's training of the animal Honky Kong is paying some dividends. Jingo put his pet to the test against the creep and the creeping death.
Jingo powered the massive Honky up with a banana, and he started cleaning house. But a change of fortune found Muerte and Nemesis taking the win.
"THE MINISTER" RICK DAVID v. BLACK BELT JONES
The false prophet, "Minister Rick David, took on Black Belt Jones in a good match, with the holy man taking the win.
INTERNATIONAL TITLE MATCH
ANN DROMEDA v. PINK
The girls threw down to determine the undisputed international champion. Ann Dromeda came to the ring with her own personal dancing escort.
Pink showed up all smiles in her great black and pink singlet. But after faking an injury, transformed into her old "Red Bull" Pink singlet, changing her tactics as well.
She even tried to fake an injury for the win, but it backfired. Ann Dromeda just had too much time to recover and was still very fresh.
Ann Dromeda beat Pink up to become the new undisputed RCW Intercontinental Champ.
RCW TITLE MATCH
RAY ROWE v. BIGG DOGG w/special guest referee TRINA MICHAELS
Indy wrestling sensation Trina Micheals came in as a guest referee for the RCW Title Match featuring 'The Mistake from the Lake' Ray Rowe vs. the Freestyle King Bigg Dogggg.
Bigg Dogg hit the ring to some amazing freestyle music, but it wasn't enough to get past the power of 'The mistake from the lake' Ray Rowe and the incompetance of guest referee Trina Michaels.
RCW TAG TITLE BOUT
DARCI DRAKE/ALISSA FLASH (c) v. GULF COAST CONNECTION
The littlest Pegasus JT Summers and Rudy Russo took on Darci Drake and Alissa Flash for the titles. After some general douchebaggery from their friend Galvan from the outside, the GCC took the titles from the girls.
An added stipulation was that the pinned loser was to leave town for 90 days. That meant visiting favorite Alissa Flash. I hope Alissa returns in 90 days to get some revenge. We'll see if that goes down.
All in all, it was an enjoyable show. I had fun, and got my soda and frito pie as well, so I was happy. I also tried to use a line from Scarface and asked Felicia if she wanted to get some ice cream with my friend. No luck.
