Inspire Pro is fun for many reasons. One of them being the well-read but brutal Paige Turner. Paige is a fighting librarian/book lover that encourages reading in her own special way. I've been dying to go to one of her book fairs before she flips her switch and smacks the illiterate around the ring.
At the 'Clash at the Bash', she set down a reading list. This reading list is mandatory.
Many of these books are available for free on your Kindle, so you don't have to fork over that much dough to make it happen.
The complete listing:
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque
Beloved by Toni Morrison
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
The Complete Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas
Crime and Punishement by Fyodor Dostoevsky
Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
Lord of the Flies by William Golding
Moby Dick by Herman Melville
1984 by George Orwell
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Cran
Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe
The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
A Seperate Peace by John Knowles
A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
Tales by Edgar Allan Poe
Tess of D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
Admittedly, it's a little heavy on the classics. I would have like to have seen a selection from Greek literature. But it's still a solid reading list, to be sure.
